The announcement of the UK-based band UB40's upcoming performance at Kololo Independence Grounds on December 21st has generated mixed reactions, and Winnie Nwagi is among the critics.
Next Media and Talent Africa Group shared the news, but Nwagi openly criticized the choice.
She expressed her disappointment, noting that she had been eagerly anticipating a more exciting announcement. She questioned the choice of UB40, stating,
"UB40? Really? The way everyone was waiting for the big news. But when are we having Beyonce? Twaza gwaki…wakili Westlife kale oba tunoonyayo bakadde. Who wouldn’t go for Westlife? Hooo almost everyone would sing their lungs out…naye mama."
Nwagi suggested that the promoters could have brought Beyonce or Westlife, as they are superior choices compared to UB40.
