Musician Elijah Kitaka took it upon himself to call upon fellow artistes to improve their music for the betterment of the industry.

Just a few days after calling out Kenzo over the jam session and claiming it was useless to the music industry, Elijah Kitaka has a message for artistes in general.

Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Kitaka called upon artistes to move away from comedy and focus on making music.

He explained that artistes at the moment are focused on making fun online instead of releasing good music. He says many are looking at trending on social media rather than spending time in the studio.

He reminded them about the old generation artistes who used to release music daily and how the industry was booming, unlike today.

"Artistes are just being more like comedians. They are looking at trending instead of releasing music. I remember the days of Chameleone, Radio, Sheebah, Bobi Wine, and the like, because music was coming out every day, unlike today. It was booming; we need to copy from them," he explained.

The Swangz Avenue hitmaker, however, says the industry's growth will require unity among artistes for the better.
