Musician Bebe Cool over the weekend revealed there is no global artiste in the country at the moment, not even the award-winning singer Eddy Kenzo.
During a discussion with Kasuku, Bebe Cool explained Kenzo has tried his best but hasn't reached the point of being recognized as a global artiste.
"Ugandans just don't know the meaning of the word 'global.' They just misuse it. I think many just want to cause a fight between me and Kenzo. We have no global artiste in Uganda at the moment. He only has one song out there, and that doesn't make him a global artiste," he explained.
Bebe Cool's comments didn't sit well with Kenzo, who has since branded him selfish and ignorant of the realities out there.
Kenzo explained his personal achievements speak for themselves, and he doesn't have to prove to Bebe Cool that he is a global artiste. He says the Gagamel boss should just stick with his opinion if it benefits him.
"He is just ignorant of the realities which are out there for everyone to see. He is speaking to fulfill his personal need but is entitled to his opinion. I don't have to go into a debate with anyone to prove my worth musically," he explained in an interview with a local television station.
Kenzo and Bebe Cool have been in disagreement for the majority of this year. In June, the two clashed following Diamond Platnumz's performance in Ntungamo, as their opinions differed on the matter.
