Musician Jose Chameleone is currently engaged in a custody battle with his ex-wife and the mother of his children, Daniella.
Daniella is seeking to take full custody of Chameleone's house in Seguku, two plots of land along the Entebbe Expressway, and other properties around Kampala.
She made the request after filing for divorce in the Magistrates Court of the Family Division in Kampala.
Chameleone, however, is hesitant to hand over the properties to Daniella. He explained that the properties are for his children but that he will not be forced to hand over responsibility to them while he is still alive.
He says the lawsuit filed by Daniella is literally asking him to write a will before his death, and he will not be forced to do so.
He wants his legacy to live on after his death. He will hand over the properties to his children and would like them to do the same for his grandchildren.
"My assets are for my children. They will also leave them for my grandchildren. I will not hand over the properties while I'm still alive, but they are the owners. The problem I am finding is that they want me to sign off on a will while I'm still alive," he explained in a video making rounds online.
The Leone Island boss added that he is doing well and not battling stress as has been alleged. He understands that life is vanity and that things come and go.
"I am doing well, my friends; I am not stressed. I understand that life is not all about us; it's vanity. Things come and go," he added.
Chameleone contends that, just like Daniella, he is also fighting for the good of their children.
