Musician King Saha has called on Eddy Kenzo, the president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), to resign and hand over leadership if he can no longer handle the pressure that comes with leading the federation.

Earlier this month, Kenzo announced his intention to step down from his position but later reversed the decision after internal discussions with members of the federation.

However, Saha believes he is more than ready to take on the mantle and lead the creative industry in the right direction.

“We need the copyright law, and then start looking at policies and monitoring. I’m still available, and if they’re overwhelmed, let them hand over to me. I will demand for it in the right way — even up to Parliament, I will go with the musicians there,” Saha stated.

The Zakayo hitmaker emphasized that, unlike Kenzo’s approach, his leadership would focus less on handouts from government and more on policy reforms, particularly the long-awaited copyright law amendment that protects artists’ work.

King Saha previously contested for the presidency of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), but the elections were postponed and have remained pending for nearly five years.
