Media personality Sasha Ferguson has confirmed her separation from journalist Canary Mugume, revealing that their marriage ended due to alleged domestic violence and struggles with substance abuse.
Through a series of emotional posts shared on Snapchat, Sasha announced she is no longer in a relationship with Canary and is now raising their children alone. She stated that she endured immense pain behind closed doors while protecting her husband’s public image.
Sasha urged women trapped in abusive relationships to find the strength to walk away and prioritize a healthy environment for their children.
“No one should ever tell you that you are nothing without them. They are not God. You are everything with the great hand of God. Women, please work for your children because you can create a table for them when the table they sit on is taken away.” she wrote.
She further reflected on the painful experiences she covered up during their marriage, revealing she once used heavy makeup to hide bruises and eye drops to clear blood from her eyes while heavily pregnant.
“I will never forget days that required me to cover bruises with makeup, and eye drops to clear bloodstains while heavily pregnant. My prayers go out to all women tied down by abuse. Your life matters and your children need a healthy environment.”
Sasha concluded with hashtags calling for an end to domestic violence and alcohol abuse.
The pair got married in 2021, holding one of the most talked-about luxurious weddings of the year. They share two sons.
Rumors of their breakup began circulating in 2024, fuelled by gossip personality Kasuku, who alleged the couple had separated — claims Canary strongly denied at the time, warning Kasuku to keep out of his private life.
