Social media personality and model Katrina Nilzero has addressed growing speculation suggesting she is in competition with Sheila Gashumba after launching her new fashion store over the weekend.
Following the launch, social media buzzed with theories linking Katrina’s venture to Gashumba, who has owned a fashion store for several years, with many claiming the two are targeting the same market.
However, Katrina has firmly dismissed the claims, insisting her decision to venture into fashion has nothing to do with competition or rivalry.
Speaking during a media interaction, Katrina explained that fashion aligns naturally with her profession as a model and is a deliberate step to monetise her career.
“I don’t compete with Sheila Gashumba. We are totally different people,” Katrina said.
“I am a model by profession, and that’s the reason I chose to invest in fashion. I have no reason to compete with her because we are not the same.”
She added that the only thing she shares with Gashumba is their photogenic nature, dismissing comparisons beyond that.
“The only thing we share is that both of us are photogenic,” she added.
Katrina also addressed rumours of bad blood between the two, clarifying that while they are no longer close friends, there is no hostility involved.
She stressed that she has no interest in engaging in conflict with another woman and that the decision to distance herself was based on personal reasons.
“I have no beef with Sheila Gashumba. I don’t have a reason to fight another woman. I just chose to end the friendship for personal reasons,” Katrina explained.
Her remarks appear aimed at shutting down online speculation, as she shifts focus to growing her fashion brand and personal business ambitions.
