Musician Alien Skin has once again sparked debate in Uganda’s music circles after boldly declaring himself the country’s number one artiste, regardless of recent chart performance.
The outspoken singer says he remains the biggest benchmark in the industry, insisting that all artistes measure themselves against him.
According to the Fangone Forest boss, he doesn’t need a hit song to stay on top because his influence alone places him above everyone else.
“I don’t need a hit song to be on top. The fact is every artiste wants to be like me, that alone keeps me number one. I set myself as the diameter that everyone measures themselves against. I am the bar, whether they like it or not,” Alien Skin said.
The Sitya Danger hitmaker has only been in the industry for a few years but has managed to dominate headlines, social media debates, and public conversations with his controversial statements and street influence.
However, despite his bold claims, Alien Skin has not been ruling the airwaves in recent months, with several other artistes currently enjoying stronger radio rotation and streaming numbers. Still, his confidence and presence continue to keep him at the centre of Uganda’s music discourse.
