Former Miss Uganda Hannah Karema has officially joined the race for Guild President at Makerere University, it has emerged.
Karema confirmed her aspirations through her X platform, signaling her transition from beauty queen to student leadership politics.
She noted that leadership has always been her calling and expressed readiness to serve the interests of fellow students and the university at large.
“Leadership has always been my calling! God willing, I’m ready to serve interests of my fellow students 🙏,” she wrote.
Karema is seeking to replace Sentamu Churchill James, who was inaugurated as Guild President in March 2025.
Hannah Karema, crowned Miss Uganda 2023–2024, also represented the country at the Miss World 2023 competition held in India from February 18 to March 9, 2023.
