Events promoter Nobat Events has officially joined the race for a seat in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), expressing strong confidence in victory.

Nobat picked nomination forms earlier this week and is aiming to represent Uganda in the regional assembly based in Tanzania.

Speaking in an interview with a local television station, he revealed that his campaign efforts are already underway.

“I have the support and already convinced most senior members to cast their votes in my favour. I will win with a huge margin come April 15,” he said.

The nomination process is scheduled for March 30th and 31st, as announced by the Parliament of Uganda.

The EALA positions became vacant following the 2026 Ugandan General Elections, where former representatives Dennis Namara and James Kakooza secured seats in Uganda’s Parliament.

Under the East African Community (EAC) Treaty, individuals are not allowed to serve simultaneously in a national parliament and the regional assembly.

Voting for the new EALA representatives is expected to take place on April 15, 2026, with several candidates already expressing interest in the positions.
