Music boss Abdul Mulaasi has talked about what he believes is witchcraft in Uganda’s music industry. He claims that some artists are hurt by spiritual tricks that make them abuse alcohol.
Speaking in an interview, the veteran singer claimed that some artists are bewitched through alcohol. He says this makes them drink too much and lose focus on their music careers.
As an example, Mulaasi spoke about singer Kemi Sera. He described her as beautiful and very talented, but claimed she was badly affected by alcohol-related curses.
"There are several artists here who were bewitched through alcohol, and one of them is Kemi Sera. She is beautiful, talented, and everything about her is good," he said.
"I tried my very best to help Kemi Sera after she returned from South Africa and joined my band. While we were working together, we got lost more than four times on our way to performances. We would arrive late at the venues, sometimes find people fighting, and other times find property had been destroyed," Mulaasi further explained.
