Musician Lydia Jazmine has revealed that marriage would not force her to quit music, insisting that her career is deeply connected to her identity and passion.
Speaking in a recent interview, Lydia said music is more than a source of income for her, explaining that taking a long break from it would affect her emotionally.
“For some of us, music is passion. It's something that if not done, I would feel sick,” she said.
The singer added that she cannot imagine a future in which she completely stops releasing music for her fans.
According to Lydia, a man who genuinely loves her should understand that music is part of who she is rather than expect her to abandon her career after marriage.
“I think the best a man would do is support me, move the journey with me and build me,” she added.
Lydia also pointed to married musicians who have continued to build successful careers, saying marriage and music can coexist without one having to be sacrificed for the other.
She said one of her prayers is to find a man who takes marriage seriously while also embracing and supporting her musical journey.
