Miracle Centre Cathedral Rubaga lead pastor Robert Kayanja has responded to motivational speaker and political commentator Frank Gashumba following his challenge to born-again pastors to prove their anointing by healing the sick.
Kayanja defended the miracles associated with his ministry, insisting that they are genuine and rooted in the Christian faith.
“Our miracles are not fake. They are God made. It is biblical that you have to be born again to have them,” Kayanja said.
His remarks follow Gashumba’s public offer of UGX 200 million to any pastor, prophet or apostle who claims to perform miracles and is willing to demonstrate the ability publicly.
Gashumba challenged the religious leaders to visit the intensive care unit of a major hospital and heal a patient in front of the public, arguing that those who claim to possess such powers should be willing to demonstrate them.
The challenge has sparked debate on social media and among religious circles, with some Ugandans backing calls for greater scrutiny of miracle claims, while others argue that miracles cannot be demanded on cue or treated as a competition for money.
Kayanja’s response has added to the discussion, placing renewed attention on the debate over faith, healing and claims of supernatural power in religious ministries.
