Media personality Isaac Katende, popularly known as Kasuku, has revealed that he prefers an intimate wedding with only 50 guests, saying he wants to keep his personal celebrations private and avoid the pressure that comes with large ceremonies.
Speaking on a podcast, Kasuku said his ideal guest list would comprise 30 people from his wife’s side and 20 from his own, allowing the couple to celebrate their union without involving a large crowd.
He explained that weddings, birthdays and other personal milestones are events he would rather organise and finance independently instead of relying on friends and well-wishers.
“I don’t want to bother people with wedding plans. There are certain things in my life that I consider personal, and I want to handle them myself,” he said.
Kasuku argued that asking people to contribute money towards weddings can create unnecessary pressure for couples and complicate relationships, particularly when contributors expect recognition or feel personally invested in the occasion.
He also suggested that financial contributions could create awkward dynamics between a bride and those who helped fund the wedding.
“The psychology of women is complicated. You can contribute 80 per cent, but when you start thanking people who contributed, your wife might feel indebted to them,” he argued.
Kasuku’s remarks reflect his preference for a smaller, self-funded wedding, with fewer guests and less dependence on outside financial support.
