Genesis was born Mugega Ibra on October 9, 1998 to Iddi and Mary Mugega. Genesis was raised by his grandmother after the death of his father when his mother abandoned him. He then started his primary studies at Bululu primary school in Bugiri district. In 2014, After joining secondary school, Genesis was registered in an Assisted program called compassion international that could help him in paying his school dues. Genesis was once a Muslim but with time he changed into a born again in one of the most powerful youth conference he attended at Gayaza High school with Scripture Union Uganda in 2016. He used to performe at different conferences he attended that determined his career in Gospel music. In 2018, After joining music production at Profelibeats studios at Banda.
