Harriet Namuwaya is a Ugandan female musician from Wakiso District, known for her work in Band Music and Kadongo
Kamu. With a musical journey spanning several bands and collaborations, Harriet has established herself as a distinctive
voice within Uganda's traditional and contemporary band-music scene.
Her musical inspiration is drawn from celebrated Ugandan musician and actress Mariam Ndagire, whose artistry has
influenced Harriet's own musical journey.
MUSICAL JOURNEY
Harriet Namuwaya's professional music journey includes a period with Diamond Productions, a production and
entertainment outfit owned by the late Kato Lubwama, during the mid-2000s. This period formed an important part of
her development as a performing musician and exposed her to Uganda's vibrant live-band entertainment culture.
She later crossed over to Revival Band, continuing to develop her experience and identity as a band musician.
Harriet is currently a member of Legacy Band, owned by fellow musician Umar Mwanje. Her work with Legacy Band has
also seen her collaborate closely with Mwanje on several musical projects.
MUSIC AND STYLE: Harriet's music, demonstrates her versatility as both a solo artist and collaborative performer. Her
songs cover different aspects of love, relationships, social life and faith, allowing her music to connect with audiences
through familiar Ugandan experiences.
