Sophia Gombya believes this will limit the cases of drug abuse and addiction which continue to eat up musicians.

Sophie Gombya resigned from the association president in July last year to concentrate on her political career.

Gombya says Ykee Benda is just a jealous person who feels bad whenever fellow musicians refer to her as the UMA president.

She emphasized that politics will bring  divisions in the association yet they need to be united to help the industry grow. 

In a sit-down interview, Sam revealed how it took him two years and a half to woo Sophie.

Ykee Benda, a qualified chemical engineer has been part of the music industry for just 5 years something that makes many think that he is not the right man to lead musicians.

In the letter, Sophie stated that she is eyeing an active political office as a councillor in KCCA.

Sophie Gombya's comments followed an incident where Band singer Bettina Namukasa was chased  from her rented house over rent arrears of Shs. 500,000.

She said closing the studio will allow the committee to do its job   without interference from the producer.

The events and concerts were put on a lockdown for 32 days as a measure  to minimise the spread of Corona virus.
