Willy Kuloba is a gospel artist from Mbale, Uganda, originally from East Africa. His musical
journey began at a young age through church activities, where he developed a deep love for
music while participating in choir, biblical dramas, and drumming. Even during his primary
school years, he was already passionate about drums and musical performances, something
that later became a strong foundation for his musical career.
As he joined secondary school, Willy continued nurturing his talent. In Senior Two, music,
dance, and drama were introduced in his school, and this became one of the most exciting
moments in his life. Because of his early experience in church, he quickly connected with the
drums and became skilled in drumming during school and church performances. Together
with his sister, Christine, who was also talented in music, they became active and admired
participants in choir and school activities.
Willy first entered the music industry using the stage name “Willy Young.” During that time,
he released his first song titled “Come to Me,” followed by his second song, “Balogo.” These
songs reflected the emotions, experiences, and personal feelings he carried during his
youthful journey. Music became a way for him to express himself, connect with people, and
share his inner thoughts through rhythm and lyrics.
However, as time went on, Willy experienced a deep spiritual transformation, especially
during and after his university life. He began to reflect more on his purpose, faith, and
relationship with God. This journey slowly led him away from secular music and into gospel
music, where he found peace, meaning, and a stronger calling.
Today, Willy performs and ministers using his real name, “Willy Kuloba.” His third song,
titled “Ligulu,” became his first gospel song and marked the beginning of a new chapter in
his life and music ministry. Through gospel music, Willy Kuloba aims to inspire people,
spread messages of hope and faith, and glorify God through every song he creates.
