For the 17th time, thousands of Ugandans and people from the neighboring countries took part in the MTN Kampala Marathon (MKM) held at the Kololo independence grounds in Kampala under the theme “Run for babies”.

MTN Uganda has won an award in this year’s Financial Reporting (FiRe) Awards held at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

The company has been the largest taxpayer in Uganda for the last 10 years, having paid UGX 839 billion in 2021 alone.

The long-awaited MTN Kampala Marathon kicked off this morning with the 10km wheelchair race, ahead of the other races scheduled for next Sunday, the 20th of November.

Due to the two-year break following the Covid-19 outbreak, this will be the 17th edition of the public running in the MTN Kampala Marathon.

Coming in after a two-year break due to the Covid pandemic, this year’s Marathon promises to be bigger and better with a fun-packed after-party featuring a lineup of artists performing live, as well as a children’s park.

This is the second time that MTN Uganda has declared interim dividends to its shareholders this year, with the latest payment expected to be effected on Dec. 22 to shareholders.

Huawei, which is sponsoring the MTN Kampala Marathon for the 9th year in a row has this year committed Ugx.280 million shillings towards the MTN Kampala Marathon.

Huawei that has been a sponsoring partner of the MTN Kampala Marathon for the last 8 years confirmed that it will fully participate in this year’s Marathon at Kololo.

The Voice Africa has only been held in Nigeria and for the first time ever, the musical contest will be featured in other markets where Airtel operates.  

The increase in human activities in forest reserves has caused a major shift in climate change, this has disrupted the normal balance of nature.

Richard Yego, the MTN MoMo Uganda Limited Managing Director handed over the cheque of $ 25,000 to the representatives of the AUU, at the MTN Mobile Money offices in Kampala.
