Makerere University council has resolved to suspend the 60% tuition payment policy, three days after an unending strike by students at the Ivory tower.

Makerere University council has resolved to suspend the 60% tuition payment policy, three days after an unending strike by students at the Ivory tower.

A statement signed and released by the council chairman Eng. Dr. Charles Wana-Etyem indicates that the resolution was reached at during a meeting held this morning in the council room.

He explains council resolved; “That the Tuition fees payment policy be maintained until reviewed, that 100% Tuition fees be paid by the 12th week (not later that 23rd April 2016) as requested by the students but ONLY for this semester.

The statement added; students, parents, guardians and sponsors are requested to cross check the status of tuition fees payment and ensure that the students will have fully paid 100% tuition fees by the 12th week (not later that 23rd April 2016) as there will be no further extension.”

“Any student who will not have paid 100% tuition fees by the 12th week shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the university.”
