Nicki Minaj has proven that she can do what men do, and sometimes better, so it was only right that she posed it up in menswear as she graced the cover of L’Uomo Vogue this month.
However, like any woman…she wants to put the tough girl, boss chick persona aside one day, and start a family.
Inside, the new issue, the Head Barb admits that she will be ready to settle down soon and start a family with a dude who can hold her down (could that be her boo Safaree Samuels?). She also reveals that she was inspired by Beyoncé who proves that you can do the damn thing on stage and in your career, and balance being a mother and wife as well.
[I want] an upright man, who will take care of me. The time is not yet ripe, but when I decide to get married and become a mother”, she adds, speaking of her future soul mate, “I would like to take a hiatus and dedicate myself completely to my child.”
“Seeing Beyoncé with her daughter and husband was so tender, and it showed me that it is possible to be an animal on stage and a caring mother at the same time.”
“I gave myself a time limit to reach my professional goals”, says the 32 year-old singer on the telephone from her home in Los Angeles. “I don’t want to work my whole life without ever experiencing the joys of a family”.
She also added:
“Family has always been very important to me, and that is why I want to wait until the right moment before starting my own. Right now I am too busy, but at a certain point the situation will change.[...]“[Watching my mom be abused] had a profound influence on my way of being a woman – never let a man cross the line or control me, especially in my career.”
