Social media sensation Godfrey Jjemba Matte, 68, has hired a bodyguard, God Ssempijja, who doubles as his manager to protect his interests.
In an interview, Jjemba revealed he needed someone to protect him and also manage his transactions.
He narrated that some people were starting to use him for selfish gains.
“Some business owners and companies had started using me to advertise their merchandise for free but right now, whoever wants to use me, he/she must deal with my manager. I am an old man, I don’t know things of signing contracts,” he narrated.
Jemba was transformed into an internet sensation courtesy of his picture that went viral when reading announcements at a funeral.
After the photo started making rounds, Ugandans picked interest and developed different hilarious captions that were widely shared online.
He has since relocated to Kampala and he is enjoying life in his old age.
