Weasel Clashes With Nigerian Singer Chike

Nigerian musician Chike opened his performance on Tuesday night at Serena Hotel with Goodlyfe's song titled "Breath away".

This didn't go well with  Weasel who wondered why the Nigerian singer showcased Goodlyfe's song without permission.

Through a social post, he said he is disappointed with event organizers for disrespecting Goodlyfe yet musicians like Wizkid and Rudeboy always ask for consent before singing their songs.

"There is no one we can refuse to give rights to perform or pay tribute to our own as long as you go through the right channels. Show some respect, come inquire and ask for permission. If Wizkid, Rudeboy can come for permission, then who are you? I think we have been too silent, we gonna start going a bit hard on this thing," he wrote.

However, a section of fans criticized the struggling musician for feeling so important. They asked him to drop new music instead of crying crocodile tears.

"Give us new songs and you won't cry because someone has performed your old song," a fan commented.
