Jinja city-based music artist David Kakaire alias Top K has been remanded to Kirinya prison until March 02 2023 when he returns for the mention of his case.

Top K as he is locally known to his fans, appeared on Wednesday before the Jinja Grade One Magistrate Linda Nakalema on charges of aggravated human trafficking and defilement.

Court heard from the prosecution that on February 04th, 2023, Kakaire and others still at large, trafficked a minor with the intent of sexual exploitation.

The court also heard that on the same date, Kakaire defiled a minor at Green Summer bar and lodge.

Nakalema didn't allow Kakaire to plead to the charges on grounds that her court lacks jurisdiction to hear capital offenses.

He advised the accused to seek redress in a higher court and remanded him to Kirinya prisons until March 02 2023.
