Musician Shafik Walukaaga, aka Fik Fameica, was born and raised in Kawempe, and he also began his music career there.
However, Kawempe residents have often criticized Fameica for seemingly abandoning them. They claim that he forgot about them after achieving success in the music industry.
In response to these claims, the singer clarified that he is not their Member of Parliament (MP) and, therefore, is not obligated to raise their issues in Parliament or take responsibility for anyone's well-being.
"I'm not an MP that they voted for, and I promised to do things for them. I started my hustle alone, and nobody helped me," he stated in a local television interview.
Fameica believes that Kawempe residents should look to their elected Members of Parliament because they are the ones responsible for their well-being.
