For almost a week now, media has been buzzing with allegations that Diamond Platnumz was paid 750 million Ugandan shillings for his performance at the coffee marathon.
The whopping sum raised controversy among local artists, and many critics were quick to call out the government over wasteful expenditure.
However, Bebe Cool, who also performed at the marathon, has responded to the allegations, revealing that Diamond Platnumz was never paid that huge amount.
Bebe Cool explained that the amount has been distorted by critics with particular targets, but it was never that high.
"It's not true that Diamond Platnumz was paid 750 million Ugandan shillings to perform at the Coffee Marathon. He was paid highly, but that is too far," he explained.
Bebe Cool explained that artists were paid according to their worth, branding, and influence in the market.
He urged Ugandan artists to emulate international artists for better payments in the future.
