The Ugandan music industry has quite a large number of artists, but we haven't seen anyone hit the global stage for years.
Eddy Kenzo tried, but he didn't maintain the pace. Currently, he is preoccupied with government work as a presidential advisor and is also focused more on the work of the UNMF.
However, Maro believes we have artists who can reach the global stage and dominate if they improve their branding and promotion.
In an interview on the NBS After 5 show, Maro mentioned Joshua Baraka, Chameleone, and Bebe Cool as capable artists who can reach the global stage if supported.
"I think these are very capable of hitting the global stage: Joshua Baraka, Jose Chameleone, and Bebe Cool. We have gold, but we just don't know how to sell it outside. It's what we should focus on, and everything will be good to go," he explained.
Maro believes Joshua Baraka, if well supported, can become as big as current global stars like Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and even beyond.
