Nabilah Naggayi has revealed she hasn't given up on her political aspirations and will again contest for the position of Lord Mayor for Kampala City.

Speaking in an interview with a local television, Nabilah Naggayi explained she will be on the ballot paper come 2026 and will contest independently.

"I haven't given up. I'm making a comeback and will be on the ballot for Lord Mayor as an independent candidate," she explained in an interview with a local television.

Nabilah Naggayi, who in 2021 contested for the same position through the National Unity Platform and lost to Erias Lukwago, says political parties are not working for the good of the people but only for selfish reasons.

"I chose to take a step back to understand what was going on. My conclusion is that political parties today are not here to serve the people, but rather to advance selfish interests," she explained.

Nabilah Naggayi has previously served as the Member of Parliament for Kampala district.

In 2006, she unseated Margaret Nantongo Zziwa of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) political party to capture the Women Representative's seat for Kampala in the 8th parliament (2006 to 2011). She was reelected in 2011 (for the 2011 to 2016 term) and in 2016 (for the 2016 to 2021 term).
