Former Makerere Guild President Roy Ssemboga is confident of winning the NUP party ticket for Kawempe South, despite running against the powerful Chairman Nyanzi Sentamu.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Ssemboga explained he has great belief in the National Unity Platform's elections management committee and trusts they will do the right thing.
He says, unlike Chairman Nyanzi, he is the popular candidate in the constituency and has massive support across Kawempe South.
He says, having been born in Kawempe South, he enjoys much love from the people and believes the odds are in his favor.
"I was born and raised in Kawempe, unlike him. I contested previously in Kawempe South. I won the Makerere Guild President race and have different bases across the constituency. I am sure that I will eventually be given the flag because I have the support across Kawempe South. I pray the committee just does the right thing because I have much confidence in them," he explained.
Different people, however, believe Roy Ssemboga will not be given the party flag because he is running against Chairman Nyanzi Sentamu, who is the older brother of the NUP President, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine."
