Musician Jose Chameleone has declared that he will only retire from music when Yoweri Museveni leaves power.

Chameleone, who has been openly supportive of President Museveni and actively involved in his presidential campaigns this year, said he sees his music journey as closely tied to Museveni’s leadership era.

According to the legendary singer, he grew up and thrived under Museveni’s rule and believes that period defines his generation.

“I belong to Museveni’s era. Many of us grew and thrived during his leadership, and that season defines our generation. The day President Museveni leaves power, whether by resignation or any other means, that is the day I will also hang up my microphone. As long as he is still ruling, I am not going anywhere,” he explained.

Chameleone is widely regarded as one of the godfathers of Uganda’s modern music industry, having dominated the scene for over two decades with numerous hits and a strong influence on upcoming artists.
