Music duo Kataleya and Kandle have recalled a bizarre experience under their former management, revealing how they were made to believe they had received a car as a gift, only to later discover it was part of a publicity stunt.
The duo humorously described it as a “view once car” while narrating the incident during a media interview.
According to Kataleya and Kandle, their management once picked them up and took them to a venue they believed was meant for a video shoot. However, they were surprised to find hundreds of journalists and bloggers waiting for them, including radio personality and musician Black Shuga.
The duo said their attention was soon drawn to a car bearing a number plate that reportedly carried their names. When they asked Black Shuga about the vehicle, they were told it belonged to them.
“We were so excited. We ran everywhere celebrating, took the car and enjoyed it,” they recalled.
Kataleya and Kandle said they drove the vehicle for several days before it suddenly disappeared.
They later discovered from their management that the car had only been provided as part of a public relations stunt and was never actually theirs.
The singers also recalled earlier comments by socialite Prima Kadarshi, who questioned why their management did not instead buy two affordable cars for the duo.
Looking back at the experience, Kataleya and Kandle admitted that Prima may have had a point.
