Kadongo Kamu singer Kazibwe Kapo has challenged women who claim he fathered their children to come forward while he is still alive so paternity can be established through DNA testing.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Kazibwe said his remarks were partly inspired by the controversy that followed the death and burial of Afrigo Band legend Moses Matovu, after a young man came forward claiming to be the late musician’s son.
Kazibwe argued that paternity questions should be resolved while an alleged father is still alive instead of waiting until after his death.
“I don't expect to die first, and then these women bring the children. Bring them while I am still alive and let us do the DNA,” he said.
The singer questioned why some women wait for decades before introducing children to their alleged fathers, noting that Matovu lived to 77 while some of his children were already in their 40s and 50s.
For Kazibwe, such matters should be settled early to avoid confusion and disputes after a father's death.
“If you have my child, bring that child to me. Let us establish the truth while I am still alive,” he added.
