Musician Jose Chameleone has declared that he has moved beyond Uganda’s local music scene, boasting of his reach across several African countries.

Speaking ahead of his Chameleone Unlimited concert, the veteran singer said his music career has taken him beyond Uganda, with performances across East and Central Africa as well as South Africa.

“I am no longer a local musician. I perform across Africa, different countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, South Africa and Congo,” Chameleone said.

He contrasted his international reach with what he described as the more localised careers of some Ugandan artistes, who, in his view, have built their popularity mainly within particular parts of the country.

“Local musicians are big stars in Kyankwanzi, Butambala, Koboko and neighbouring places,” he added.

Chameleone has in recent days continued to promote his long-awaited Chameleone Unlimited concert. Recent reports indicate that the show is planned for December 4, 2026, at Lugogo Cricket Oval, although the venue and date have previously been subject to changes.

The veteran singer has also recently spoken about his international connections, including invitations extended to Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Burundi President Évariste Ndayishimiye to attend his concert. Neither president had confirmed attendance at the time of the report.
