President Yoweri Museveni hosted two fundraising dinners at State House Entebbe, on Thursday and Friday raising Shs16bn from businessmen and NRM cadres.

However, the highlight of the day was Billionaire Sudhir who contributed  $1m towards the construction of the house.

According to the party treasurer, Rose Namayanja, the construction on the Shimoni road plot will soon commence.

The Movement House will be constructed behind Crested Towers and it will have 27 storeys, to symbolise the 27 fighters who took to the bush in 1981 to wage the five-year war that led to Museveni’s coming to power in 1986.
