Kampala Metropolitan spokesperson Patrick Onyango said local comedian Sam Okanya was not kidnapped as earlier reported.
Okanya of the comedy group, Mighty Family had been lost for days. His disappearance came after he wrote harsh criticism directed at the President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni.
His kidnap was linked to authorities and Alex Muhangi but later he resurfaced.
Onyango cleared air saying Okanya kidnapped himself for reasons best known to him.
Onyango said Okanya should not mix politics with comedy.
