Jamaican star, Beenie Man recently performed at Cricket Oval, Lugogo but his show didn’t go as expected.

The turn-up was low, and the singer was quick to point it out saying that the event was overpriced. He blamed the organizers, Top Boy Entertainment for demanding 150k for a ticket.

Other musicians, like Nigeria’s Oxlade who were lined up to perform at the show, didn’t set foot on stage on account that they were not fully paid.

Oxlade asked the promoters to explain what happened, and the entertainment company responded saying the show was sabotaged by some of its employees and sponsors who sold tickets cheaply and didn’t remit the money.

“We invested US$300,000 (about Shs1.1 billion) in the concert, but only 753 revelers bought genuine tickets,” an excerpt from the statement by Top Boy Entertainment management reads.

“Despite having 15,500 revelers at the show, only 753 bought genuine tickets. They bought them from our sponsors at a very reduced price,” the organizers disclosed.

Some of the sponsors for the show include eventix NBS TV, Protea hotel, Jumia, The Villa, Sanyuka, and Patio among others.
