During Rema's introduction ceremony on the Nabbingo-Masaka road in November 2019, Kirumira gave her a five-year ultimatum to retire from music and focus on her marriage.

However, in a recent interview with Spark TV, Kirumira announced that he has rescinded the ultimatum and extended it to 10 years. He cited Rema's losses during the COVID-19 lockdown and wanted her to have time to compensate for them.

Kirumira also revealed that he and Rema had promised Dr. Sebunya a colorful marital ceremony, and plans were underway. He commended the couple for taking good care of each other and hinted that Rema is pregnant.

Meanwhile, in several interviews, Rema has expressed her belief that retiring from music is good for her as a married woman, but she still has many goals to achieve. She stated that she will not retire until she has accomplished all her aspirations and does not plan to remain in the industry forever.
