Vinka's song "Bailando" was listed for Grammy consideration in two categories: Best Global Music Performance and Best African Music Performance.
Excited, Vinka now says she no longer cares about those who criticized the song when it was just released because it's receiving the recognition she never expected.
"I can't give time to the haters who didn't like my song 'Bailando.' I am happy and grateful to have been listed among the people to be nominated for the Grammy Awards," she said.
Different people, including fellow musician Victor Ruz, trashed the "Bailando" song when it was first released.
Other Ugandan musicians listed for Grammy consideration are Jose Chameleon and Eddy Kenzo.
