Popular comedian Reign has already confirmed his aspirations to contest for the Rubaga South Constituency MP position.

The comedian is planning to contest through the biggest opposition political party, the National Unity Platform.

Reign, who has spent over two years doing groundwork in the Rubaga constituency, says it's the people who asked him to contest for the position.

He explained that his constituents have placed so much hope in him, and he will work not for his own good but for the betterment of the constituency.

"The people of Rubaga have placed so much hope in me, and I am ready to serve them. They asked me to do so, and that's exactly what I will do," he explained.

Reign explained that despite being a comedian, he will succeed in Parliament, even with doubts from various people. He contends that even when he quit teaching for comedy, different people doubted his comic abilities, but he proved them wrong.

"I was a teacher, and when I wanted to pursue comedy and music, people doubted how I would manage, but I have been successful. I believe I can do the same in Parliament," he added.

Reign, however, faces stiff competition to secure the NUP party ticket. Incumbent Aloysius Mukasa is still interested in the position.
