Earlier this month, musician Edirisa Musuuza, also known as Eddy Kenzo, appeared in the media and requested a public debate with Azawi concerning various matters related to politics and music in the country.
Azawi responded over the weekend and accepted the challenge. However, she requested that the debate take place in one of Kampala's ghettos.
Azawi stated that both she and Kenzo have strong roots in the ghetto, and she wants the two to have their discussion in the presence of the ghetto people who support them and believe in their ideas.
"I accept the public debate with Eddy Kenzo. But if we are going to debate, let's do it from where it all began, in the ghettos, with the people who made us. That's where the truth lives, and that's where I want answers," she explained.
The latest information we have gathered is that NBS Television is working with the two artists to agree on a particular date for the debate.
The popular media house is reportedly ready to host the event in any area convenient for the two artists.
Azawi has, over time, criticized Eddy Kenzo for working with the government and remaining silent on public matters, especially issues affecting the youth.
