Musician Nina Kakunda, also known as Nina Roz, is contesting for the position of Sembabule District Woman Member of Parliament in the 2026 general elections.
The singer already picked up and returned the nomination forms at the NUP party headquarters, as she is seeking to enter the elections with their ticket.
Nina Roz is hopeful of getting the ticket and believes she is the right person to represent the National Unity Platform in the race for the position.
Speaking about music, Nina Roz revealed she will not give up on her career despite joining politics.
The singer explained she is part of music and will continue dropping new music as she pursues her political career.
Nina Roz, however, says fans shouldn't expect music as frequently as she has been releasing it, because there is a new purpose she is focused on at the moment.
"Being an artist is part of me, so I cannot give up on music. I will drop some jams whenever I can, but people shouldn't forget that I now have a new purpose," she explained in an interview with a local television station.
Nina Roz is not the only artist joining politics. Others like Nubian Li, Tuff B, and Maulana have also already expressed interest in different positions this electoral season.
