Musician Moses Saali, also known as Bebe Cool, is among the founders of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, which is currently led by Eddy Kenzo.
At its launch, the Gagamel boss was elected head of finance and was mandated to control the flow of money within the federation.
The singer, however, says he quit the federation because they lost focus and never respected the aspirations for which they launched it.
"It was my choice to start and join the federation. However, after some time, I didn't like the way they operated. It was never aligned with the reasons we started, and I chose to quit," he explained.
The singer also says that despite being the finance leader at the federation, he was never involved when they received money from the government. He was ignored and thus chose to focus on personal goals.
"You remember I was the one in charge of finances, but when money arrived, I was never involved. I chose to step back and leave it to Kenzo and others to push forward," he added.
Bebe Cool, however, says he is happy with the federation. He supports Eddy Kenzo and the entire leadership and advocated for more government funding for the music industry.
He says the music industry contributes a lot to the country's revenue, and artists deserve to be supported for even better gains.
