The Ugandan government recently approved 33 billion Ugandan shillings to boost the music industry through the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF). This money was allocated by Parliament for the benefit of stakeholders in the music industry.

However, promoters have publicly stated their grievances, revealing they were not given their share by Eddy Kenzo and the UNMF.

Abitex explained that Eddy Kenzo, as a presidential advisor, has failed in his role. He [Eddy Kenzo] betrayed them, leading the promoters to resolve to ban him and all other artistes under the UNMF from performing.

"As promoters in the country, we have resolved to ban Eddy Kenzo and other UNMF artistes from performing. He controls the money and didn't bother to share with us from the 33 billion Ugandan shillings from the government. He betrayed us, and the UNMF has turned into a scamming group; we can't operate that way anymore," he explained.

Abitex also appealed for help from the President of the country and revealed they would be heading to Gulu in a few days to meet with General Salim Saleh in a bid to resolve the stalemate.

Eddy Kenzo, the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, has since remained silent about the matter.
