Musician Wyclif Tugume, also known as Ykee Benda, and his partner, Emily Nyawira, have moved a step closer to holy matrimony with a traditional introduction ceremony that took place over the weekend.
The singer was introduced to Nyawira's family and friends at her parents' home in Najjera, Kampala.
The event was attended by several fellow musicians, including Mesach Semakula, Sheebah, the B2C singers, Tracy Melon, and Lydia Jazmine. The ceremony was also graced by presidential advisor Eddy Kenzo, who attended with his partner, Phiona Nyamutooro.
According to Buganda Kingdom traditions, an introduction ceremony is a key step before a church wedding, where the groom's family presents a bride price to the bride's family, bringing both families together in a formal union.
