Musician Moses Saali, better known as Bebe Cool, a long-time supporter and darling of President Yoweri Museveni's government, has faced an unexpected public expression of disappointment from his patron.

The Gagamel boss has often boasted about receiving a state-of-the-art recording studio from the President as part of his continuous two-decade-long work with the NRM.

However, during a recent address to artists at an album launch in Munyonyo, President Museveni revealed his dissatisfaction, admitting he hasn't received an update on the studio's progress for a long time.

"I was trying to work with Bebe Cool at first. He was trying to set up a recording center somewhere. I don’t know what happened,” the President explained, wondering why Bebe Cool hasn't made the studio available, especially now when many musicians need it for their career.

In contrast, the President heaped praise on fellow artist Eddy Kenzo, commending him for his efforts in uniting and organizing the music industry.

"I want to congratulate Kenzo, Nyamutoro, and all the musicians for finally getting organized," he added, signaling a clear appreciation for Kenzo's industry leadership over Bebe Cool's reported inaction on the studio.

This public statement is sure to spark debate on the role of political patronage in the Ugandan music scene.
