Musician Grenade Official has publicly declared his non-partisanship in the upcoming general elections, asserting that his only loyalty lies with politicians who champion artists and the music industry.
Despite often expressing support for President Yoweri Museveni in the past, Grenade stated he is not affiliated with any political group, emphasizing his role as an artist who seeks to unify, not divide, his fanbase.
"I am not on any side of politics, but if there is something that develops us as musicians, I am here. I am not a politician, I’m just a musician who doesn't want to segregate among my fans. I want them all united," he explained.
Grenade made the comments while attending the launch of President Museveni's music album in Munyonyo, Kampala, clearly signaling that his appearance at the NRM-led event is motivated by his professional interest in the creative sector, rather than a fixed political allegiance.
His stance pivots the conversation toward which political figures are truly committed to the economic development of Uganda’s music industry.
