Presidential Advisor on Creatives and President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), Eddy Kenzo, believes Uganda’s music industry is performing better than ever before.

Speaking in an interview with a local YouTuber, Kenzo praised the current generation of artistes, saying they are achieving far more than those who came before them.

He expressed admiration for artistes who are aiming high both locally and internationally, specifically applauding Joshua Baraka for leading the way.

“We are on the right track and doing well both locally and internationally. The current breed of artistes is very talented and confident. We have outdone ourselves compared to past generations. For example, musicians are now staging major shows after just two years in the industry — we didn’t have that confidence before,” Kenzo said.

“We have won everything internationally. I did it, and now Joshua Baraka is coming up. This generation has achieved a lot — from BET to the Grammys — and our music is all over the world,” he added.

Kenzo also credited President Museveni’s policies for creating an environment that allows artistes to work and thrive peacefully.
