Award-winning musician Eddy Kenzo has spoken out amid growing criticism following his involvement in President Museveni’s album launch and his active participation in the NRM campaign trail.
Kenzo has been accused of sidelining some of Uganda’s biggest musicians in favor of regional artistes under the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) — an organization he leads.
Speaking to the media, Kenzo revealed that he is being fought by powerful forces that fear his influence and success.
“There are a lot of people fighting me. Those you see publicly are just sent. It’s a big force behind everything. The reason is because I am Eddy Kenzo. I always succeed at whatever I focus on, and that threatens some people,” he explained.
The “Sitya Loss” hitmaker added that his success in both music and national leadership has caused fear and panic among his rivals, who are now resorting to propaganda to tarnish his image.
Despite the ongoing criticism, Kenzo maintains that he will not back down from his responsibilities as Presidential Advisor on Creatives and President of UNMF.
“I won’t be intimidated by propaganda or malice. I’ll keep doing my best for the better. God chose me, and I am blessed,” he emphasized.
Kenzo continues to lead the Federation’s efforts to strengthen the creative industry and has been seen rallying support for President Museveni across the country.
