Media personality Edwin Katamba, popularly known as MC Kats, has delivered an inspiring message to people living with HIV as the world commemorated World AIDS Day earlier this week.

MC Kats went public about his HIV status in 2019, a bold step he said was meant to fight stigma and empower young people and victims battling the virus. Since then, he has been an outspoken advocate for awareness, prevention, and emotional support.

Speaking on Monday, Kats encouraged those living with HIV not to lose hope, stressing that life continues even with the virus and dreams are still valid.

“AIDS is not the end. You can still go ahead. It’s actually one of the reasons I chose to go public about my status—I wanted to help people see that life goes on and you can still achieve your dreams.” MC Kats explained.

He also issued a strong caution to the youth, urging them to be vigilant and prioritize safe sexual practices, warning that the virus remains a major threat.

Kats emphasized that many young people continue to fall victim due to negligence and risky behavior, and urged them to avoid unprotected sex and make informed decisions about their health.

MC Kats remains one of Uganda’s most influential voices in the fight against HIV/AIDS and continues to lead campaigns aimed at ending stigma and supporting those affected.
