The Ugandan music industry has come together in solidarity with Fik Fameica following the heartbreaking loss of his mother, who passed away in the early hours of Saturday after a prolonged battle with cancer.

According to the singer, his mother had been bedridden for over five months and spent much of this month moving in and out of different hospitals as doctors fought to stabilize her condition.

The news of her passing sent shockwaves through the entertainment fraternity, with several artistes, public figures and stakeholders gathering at Fik Fameica’s home in Muyenga on Saturday evening for a vigil.

Among those who paid their respects was presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), who condoled with the family and expressed concern over Uganda’s healthcare system.

“If we had functioning hospitals, Fik Fameica’s mother wouldn’t have died of cancer at just 51 years,” Bobi Wine said.

Other notable figures present included Eddy Kenzo, Abitex, Lydia Jazmine, Kalifa Aganaga, Dax Vibes, Alien Skin, Spice Diana, Karole Kasita, among many others who stood with the grieving family.

Fik Fameica’s mother will be laid to rest on Monday, 29th, at Kasana in Luwero District, as the nation continues to mourn alongside one of its biggest music stars.

Howwe extends heartfelt condolences to Fik Fameica and his family during this difficult time.
